Cleantech Diverse Founder Support
Building an Equitable Clean Energy Workforce
MassVentures and the Massachusetts Clean Energy Council (MassCEC) are partnering on an initiative to create an equitable clean energy workforce in the Commonwealth. Our goal is to cultivate cleantech founders who represent typically underrepresented populations--and to support these founders in playing an active role in the state's Interim Clean Energy and Climate Plan for 2030.
The initiative seeks to:
1) Connect with Massachusetts PhD or graduate technical/business students with diverse backgrounds interested in, or already pursuing, cleantech or climate-related innovation.
2) Provide resources and services to these student researchers, including by connecting them with mentors, facilitating introductions to local accelerators/incubators/investors, assisting with company creation and staff hiring, and providing access to Commercialization Accelerator online self‐learning and other such resources.
3) Identify business development experts interested in mentoring cleantech founders with diverse backgrounds.

If you'd like to be a part of our project, either as 1) a student researcher or cleantech entrepreneur from an underrepresented community who is looking for support, or 2) as a business development expert who'd like to play a mentoring role, please fill out our Intake Form.
